Electrical Engineer
MEP Associates’ Eden Prairie office is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team.
This position would be responsible for the electrical engineering for large and complex projects located throughout the US, ensuring that technical, schedule, and budget requirements are achieved in accordance with established company policies and procedures, client expectations and applicable professional standards. The position responsibilities include directing, coordinating, scheduling, budgeting, and reviewing the work of electrical designers, interns and CAD operators assigned to the project(s) as well as assisting in mentoring electrical engineering staff.
Qualified candidates will meet with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors and others to address electrical engineering issues and to develop effective working relationships. The successful applicant for this position will bring with them existing client relationships and market opportunities.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering and design in an A/E or MEP consulting firm,
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering,
- PE registration required,
- LEED Accreditation or the ability to become Accredited within 6 months of employment required,
- CEM and/or CLEP certification preferred,
- Strong oral and written communication skills,
- And Microsoft Office and industry related software proficiency.

Energy Engineer
MEP Associates, LLC, a progressive and growing mechanical and electrical engineering firm with multiple office locations throughout the US is seeking an Energy Engineer to join their team in their Eden Prairie, MN office. This position would be responsible for the energy use analysis for large and complex projects located throughout the US, ensuring that technical, schedule, and budget requirements are achieved in accordance with established company policies and procedures, client expectations and applicable professional standards.
This position requires technical expertise in the evaluation of building & industrial process energy consumption and the subsequent identification, design and preparation of financial analyses to distinguish opportunities for energy efficiency and energy conservation measures. These measures include retro-commissioning, lighting, geothermal, thermal storage, HVAC design, building automated controls systems and on-site renewable (solar thermal, photovoltaic, biomass, wind) generation. The successful candidate will be expected to evaluate energy consumption through audits, mechanical planning, spreadsheet analysis and energy modeling tools, including DOE2, eQuest, EnergyPlus, Trane Trace 700, RET Screen, and other industry standard and available tools.
Qualified candidates will meet with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors and others to address energy conservation measure approaches and to develop effective working relationships. The successful applicant for this position will support and enhance existing client relationships and develop new market opportunities as they arise.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in energy analysis,
- Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering (or minimum 10 years energy analysis experience),
- PE registration preferred,
- CEM certification preferred
- LEED Accreditation or the ability to become Accredited within 6 months of employment required,
- Prior energy consulting experience required,
- Experience with LEED® building energy modeling and submittal required,
- Proficient in AutoCAD & Microsoft Office,
- Possess advanced knowledge of systems designs for various projects,
- Technical analysis and engineering studies report writing,
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills,
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously,
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and
- Results oriented self-starter with minimal supervision.
