Energy Conservation
Building System Assessment, Energy Audits, and Feasibility Studies.
Operating, maintaining, and upgrading key infrastructure is a major expense for building owners. Our team of experts can provide practical analysis of any size facility to allow our clients to make the best long-term business decision for their organization on how to meet the challenges they face.
Our comprehensive analysis reviews operation and maintenance practices, code compliance, current energy use, condition of key equipment and systems. We compare system ages and conditions against the expected life cycle, and determine if these elements will continue to meet future needs. When it is apparent that improvements are needed, we will develop several alternatives for our clients’ consideration. Each alternative will be completely described in terms easily understood by the building owner. The costs for implementation will be identified, and the tangible and intangible benefits presented. In addition we will make recommendations based on our professional experience, provide implementation plans, and research grants and alternative funding that may be available.
Our Comprehensive Energy Audit and Feasibility Studies can provide the information that facility management can use to help their long range planning. In some locations, government or utility incentives can be used to offset the cost of energy studies, and even infrastructure improvements.
It is our recommendation that every facility have a condition assessment every 5-10 years, depending on occupancy. The cost of emergency repair or replacement can be two to three times the cost of scheduled upgrades, and the result is often times, less efficient and of lesser quality. Lost time can add much more to the cost of emergency repair or replacement.
